As far as I know and can see in the file, no. No identifiable information stays in the book file. However it does remain in Calibre.

After DRM is removed using this technique, does any identifying information remain in the file (e.g. Kindle ID, Adobe ID)?

Sorry for the delay in response, I got your comment while running an then why family had the opportunity to be in true Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade. I have not installed te update yet. I will look at upgrading later today and see if I can help. In the past, Kindle for Mac app really handled the DeDRM partish allowing Calibre to leverage Kindle rights to strip away the DRM. I know that Amazon updated the Kindle for iPad app perhaps they tweaked the DRM as well. Have you tried deleting the books and completely re-downloading them, then opening in Kindle. After that try pulling into Calibre?

I only buy Amazon books and download them to my Kindle for Mac app. I had been using earlier versions of the Calibre plug-in to reliably strip DRM and convert AZW to MOBI. From Calibre I can then drag books to my Boox reader.
Today I upgraded Calibre to 0.8.43 and it has blown up the plug-in converter. I followed all your instructions easily to download, install and open the Calibre files, but nothing I can do will convert the latest Amazon book - it remains as an .azw file. I have tried customising by inserting the correct book file code, also opening and closing the book in Kindle for Mac, but nothing works. Previously I didn't customise, installing the plug-in was sufficient and every book dragged into Calibre converted instantly. Am I missing something?

Do you have it at all? On the device? If so you just need to transfer it to the computer. Also, It "should" be in your B&N account online, they all all of your purchases. try going here: and see if it is in your library.

I too work with Elementary bilingual students and am interested in requesting ipads for my students. Need to be able to justify. I simply need to know what apps are available for my ELL students.
